Pett & Pett Level

Church Services: on Sunday January 11 there will be a Covenant Service at Pett Methodist Chapel at 10:45am. This will be a united service with the Pett Parish Church. A covenant service is when members of the congregation remember promises that they have made to God and perhaps more importantly the covenant (promise) that He has made with them. The service will be led by Rev Ian Pruden.

Village Choir: On Monday January 12 the Village Choir will meet again at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

Pett Older People’s Project: On Tuesday January 13 POPP will feature Keith Osborne and Music for Health. Sheryl Tucker, Nail Technician will also be there. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Pett Gardening Club: Also on Tuesday January 13 Pett Gardening Club will be holding its first meeting of the year. The AGM, which is being held at Pett Village Hall, is at 6:45pm followed by a talk on Allotments in Japan by Richard Wiltshire at 7:30pm.

Pett WI: On Friday January 16 Pett WI will be holding its first meeting on the year at 2:30pm at Pett Village Hall. 2014 was a wonderful year for Pett WI with new members, excellent speakers and superb outings to the Stables Theatre, Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and just recently, a Canterbury Cathedral Carol Concert. 2015 will hopefully be equally successful as the National Federation of Women’s Institutes in England and Wales is celebrating its centenary and Pett WI has been chosen to host a Centenary Tea in June. Also the programme of speakers for the coming year includes a tea tasting, a visit by a Hearing Dog and a History of Pett Level. So if you are new to Pett – or live in a nearby village - and want to meet new people, hear interesting speakers each month and enjoy and excellent tea, why not come along to the first meeting and see what the WI is all about.
