Church Services on Sunday July 8 – Sea Sunday on Pett Level Beach at 10:30 am, shared with the Methodists.
Please come along and share in this wonderful outdoor service, which will, amongst other things, celebrate the work of The Mission to Seafarers.
At POPP’s on Tuesday July 10 there will Music for Health with Keith Osborne. POPP’s runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm at Pett Village Hall and includes a two course lunch for just £5.
At the meeting of Pett Gardening Club on Tuesday July 10 members will meet at 6:50pm at Pett Village Hall before going to visit Fairlight End, Chris & Robin Hutt’s delightful garden.
The Mobile Library will be in Pett and Pett Level on Wednesday July 11. It will start at the Church at 10.10am, moving on to Chick Hill at 10:50am and finishing at The Smuggler at 11.20am.
Well Pett Flower Show is nearly upon us once again. This year it will be held on Saturday July 28 at the Recreation Ground, starting at 2pm and Amber Rudd MP will be judging the children’s Fancy Dress Parade, as well as presenting all the other trophies and prizes. In addition to the wide range of classes for flowers, fruit and vegetables, there are also three new ones: homemade drink, odd shaped vegetable and homemade sweets. There will also be tombola, plant and produce stalls, the Village Choir, bouncy castle, coconut shy, BBQ, Brass band and, of course the Fun Dog Show!
The Village Choir will be meeting on 3 Mondays in July - 9, 16 and 23 so that they will be ready for their various gigs coming up. 7:30pm at Pett Methodist Chapel
Pett Methodist Church ask you to put Friday July 27 in your diary. They will be holding an Olympic Opening Ceremony Party for all, at the chapel from 6-30pm - midnight (or until they’ve had enough!) You can have fun while watching the ceremony on the big screen. Free entry, but there will be a small charge for the BBQ and Tuck Shop. More details nearer the time.
At 8pm on the evening of July 28 there will be a village party in the marquee on the Recreation Ground in Pett. The flower show marquee will be transformed into an evening venue with music for dancing provided by Michael Hambridge. The tickets are £7 on the night or in advance from Pauline Stapley (details in Pett News). This includes a cold buffet. Bring your own drink. Please support this village event in aid of the Pink Ribbon Foundation for Breast cancer and have an enjoyable evening amongst friends.
