Don’t forget the Pett W.I. meeting at 2:30pm on Friday July 20 in Pett Village Hall with speaker Lesley Fairweather from the British Red Cross.

Church Services on Sunday July 22 - Parish Communion, St Mary & St Peter, Pett at 9:30am; Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

The Village Choir will meet again on Monday July 23 at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

POPP on Tuesday July 24 will feature Skittle Lane with John George. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

On July 25 the Mobile Library will be in Pett and Pett Level. It will start at the Church at 10.10am, moving on to Chick Hill at 10:50am and finishing at The Smuggler at 11.20am.

Also July 25 is the deadline for Flower Show entries. All entry forms and fees must be sent in before 8pm on that day.

Of course Saturday July 28 is the big day itself with the children’s Fancy Dress Parade, a wide range of classes for flowers, fruit and vegetables, as well as tombola, plant and produce stalls, the Village Choir, bouncy castle, coconut shy, BBQ, Brass band and, of course the Fun Dog Show!

And if that was not enough, don’t forget that at 8pm in the evening there is the village party in the marquee on the Recreation Ground with music for dancing provided by Michael Hambridge. The tickets are £7, available from Pauline Stapley (details in Pett News), and include a cold buffet but bring your own drink. The event is in aid of the Pink Ribbon Foundation for Breast cancer so please support it.

Flowerpots Playgroup has come to an end for another school year, and staff and children have said good-bye and good luck to the older children who are off to start their new schools. The group has been busier than ever this year and would like to thank all the parents, grandparents and child-minders who come every week and give their support.

This summer holidays there will be no weekly playgroup, but due to popular demand there will be two sessions, on Monday August 6 and Monday August 20 at 9.30 to 11.30 am as usual.

Flowerpots Playgroup will begin again on September 10, 9.30 to 11.30 am, and staff are looking forward to welcoming all the children back again, as well as several new babies due soon!

If you want to get in touch, you can contact or come along on a term-time Monday morning.
