Jade was reported missing again on Friday (February 19) having been found in Brighton on Thursday evening following her previous absence.

Sussex Police missing persons coordinator, Wai Lee, said: “There are a small number of children who frequently go missing in Sussex and we are aware that their regular absences are noted by the public whose help we seek in finding them.

“No matter how often these incidents occur, we have a duty of care towards these young people who are vulnerable and who we must not ignore.

Social media does bring them to the attention of the public and it is important that we return them to safety as soon as possible.

“The responses we get to missing person appeals can be the main factor in finding them and we would certainly not want people to be discouraged because they recognise anyone as frequently reported missing.

“We are constantly working with other agencies to address the issue.”
