Selsey Town Council spent £50,000 refurbishing the Oval Field play area, which was opened by representatives of Medmerry Primary School Council, who were given the honour of cutting the ribbon.
Eibe, the selected supplier, provided bunting and goodie bags for the children.

Many of the items are themed around the sea and the sky with a play unit lighthouse, trawler, a ‘how tall are you’ lighthouse, rocket and spaceship play panels and a solar system activity table.
Since opening the park, the council said the playground had already been put to good use and was attracting children from all over Selsey to come to play on the equipment.
The town council has also upgraded the ground covering in the play area at East Beach to bonded mulch, making it both more hard wearing, and visually appealing.

The final plans have been drawn up and the council is finalising the legalities with Chichester District Council, which owns the land.
It is hoped this will be complete by the end of the year.
Chairman of Selsey Town Council Mike Beal was on hand at the official opening of the playground and even took a turn on the new zip wire.
