Raid on Bognor Regis betting shop

Police are looking for three men after staff at a betting shop were threatened during a raid yesterday evening, May 13.

The men, aged between 20 and 25, were wearing sports clothing and trainers when they forced their way into Ladbrokes in Chichester Road just before 10pm.

Police said one of the men may have been carrying a stick or similar weapon, but it was not used.

Staff were shaken but unhurt, and the men made off with a quantity of cash.

The first man is described as white, 5’6 in height and of slim, athletic build. He was wearing a dark purple hooded pullover top, dark blue trousers and white trainers.

The second man was about 5’4 in height, of stocky build and wearing a grey, hooded top with the hood pulled tightly around his face and a scarf over his mouth and nose.

The third man is described as wearing a grey, zip-up hooded top with hammer-shaped cross motifs and a dark scarf over his face.

He was over six feet in height and skinny.

Detective Sergeant Alan Pack of West Sussex CID said: “These three - one tall and skinny, one short and stocky and one slim and athletic - make a very distinctive group and I am confident that they will stand out to those who know them, particularly if they are seen using an unusually large amount of cash.

“If anyone saw them in the Chichester Road area around 10pm on Friday or has information that could assist our enquiry, please contact 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Glenside.
