Monthly Village Market: is tomorrow at Robertsbridge Hall between 10-12. The market promises another great line up of food and craft stalls. The return of all the regulars plus a few of the newer ones –handmade children’s clothes, Alpaca wool, some exciting new savoury foods and beautiful hand made Living Wreaths and Garlands from Adele Rogers. St Mary’s Salehurst: services are on Sunday 3rd May – fourth after Easter with Eucharist with Hymns at the Holy Trinity in Hurst Green at 9.30am and Family Eucharist at St Mary’s at 11am.

Next Saturday 9th May is the Spring Market and Plant Sale at Robertsbridge Hall between 10.30am – 2.30pm. If you would like to sell your own things then you can have a table for £10 or you can donate plants, bottles, cakes and bric-a-brac and bring them to the hall from 8am on the morning. Please go along and support by talking your family and friends. The Darvel Community will be taking along some children’s games for outside to encourage the children to go along.

Popular Landscape Walks: are adding another date which will be on Sunday May 10th. This is due to the great success from last year of the guided walk by Peter Miles. This walk is based in Mountfield, which is not normally accessible to walkers. The main purpose of the walk is to explain how and why our High Weald landscape looks as it does. To this end, the walk will cover details of woodland archaeology, mediaeval earthworks, industrial remains such as mine pits, historic evidence of woodland crafts plus local botany including one very rare plant population and an even rarer tree, foraging (with recipes) and more. Call for Development Sites: Salehurst and Robertsbridge Parish Council have begun work on a Neighbourhood Plan for the Village. There is a plan for 155 new dwellings from now until 2028. A Neighbour hood Plan is a process giving residents a vote on where to build as well as the kind of development. This is an invitation to landowners with land abutting or within the village boundary to come forward with sites with potential for development. DARTS: There are no games tonight but don’t forget on Sunday the very popular ‘Open Pairs Darts Knockout’ is at Robertsbridge Club with registration at 7.30p.m. It is just £1 to enter for an evening of fun and cheap drinks and of course there is a raffle as well so enjoy the bank holiday weekend in a relaxed atmosphere at The Club.

FOOTBALL: Tomorrow the 1st team finish there dismal season at home to Macron Premier Division runners-up Hollington United K.O. 3p.m.

STOOLBALL: The season starts with the Mixed team away to Ashburnham on Tuesday 5th May while the Ladies play at Catsfield on Thursday 7th May with both matches starting at 6.45p.m.

CHARITY CUP: The Final of the Robertsbridge Charity Intermediate Cup is between St.Leonards Social and Iden at Robertsbridge Recreation Ground K.O. 6.30p.m. Entrance is Adults £2 O.A.P’s/Chiuldren £1 with all profits going to the local charities in Robertsbridge including Scouts, Guides, Children Services, Junior Football Club and the County F.A.
