Robertsbridge pensioner dies following A21 crash

An 83-year-old woman, who suffered a broken neck in a collision on the A21 at Kent Street on Monday (February 22), has died from her injuries.

The woman, from Robertsbridge, died at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton shortly after 4pm on Wednesday (February 24).

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the collision between a Toyota Aygo, travelling south towards Hastings, and a Ford C-Max, travelling in the opposite direction between St Leonards-on-Sea and Sedlescombe.

The crash happened shortly after 8am.

The driver of the Ford, a 60-year-old woman, also from Robertsbridge, was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings for treatment to neck and back injuries. She was released the following day.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to email [email protected] or call 101 quoting Operation Newstead.
