Rustington pulls together for sisters’ hamper draw

SISTERS Sue Linford and Jacqueline Stamp, from Rustington, raised a remarkable £1,921 in just seven days with a bumper charity raffle.

They made 30 beautiful hampers and sold raffle tickets for them at £1 a time at the Cancer Research UK shop in The Street, Rustington.

“The support from people was absolutely amazing,” said Sue. “Jacqueline and I and all at Cancer Research UK would like to say a huge thank-you.

“Costa Coffee Rustington donated several items for our hampers, we collected public donations throughout the last few months and and most of the shops displayed our poster advertising the raffle.

“This has been a community pulling together in difficult times to help, which was wonderful and all for such a good cause. We have met and spoken with some really wonderful people this past week who have told us some very touching stories and also stories of surviving cancer. Amazing people and an outstanding amount raised.”

The sisters are now seeking further donations at the shop for future fund-raising.
