The celebrations began with Beckley CE Primary School’s harvest festival on Wednesday. The children and parents’ donations made a fantastic display in the church, which was then expanded on by Heather Fooks and her team of floral arrangers for the weekend festival.

The festival was to mark harvest and had the theme of hedgerows. Everything used for the displays was grown in the village and the autumnal coloured Dahlias – also grown in Beckley – were amazing.

All of the schoolchildren contributed a woodland creature and enjoyed trying to find their creature when they visited.

There were some wonderful cakes for visitors to enjoy and plants to buy.

The weekend was finished as it began with the harvest festival service followed by a meal in church.
