The design was chosen by people of the town and will be on display in Swan Walk until Friday, August 9.

Simon Stainer, managing director of Horsham Stone, said: “The arrival of a direct heir to the throne is a once in a generation event and we wanted to do something that would provide a lasting way of marking the occasion.

People of Horsham chose the design and we can’t wait to show them their sculpture. It is very much a community piece and we are looking into how we might be able to find a permanent home for the sculpture where it can be enjoyed by current residents and future generations.”

The sculpture will be able to be viewed at the mosaic in the Horsham shopping centre.

Gill Buchanan, manager of Swan Walk, said: “We are delighted to be hosting the sculpture and giving the people of our town an opportunity to see it up close.

“It really brings the national celebrations to our doorstep.”
