Judy Torrance, Asselton House

One of the most important events this year will be taking place over this weekend September 14 and 15 at the village hall. You will be able to view an exhibition of the housing site development proposed for the village of Sedlescombe. The exhibition has been arranged by Sedlescombe Parish Council and will be open to the public from 10am until 4pm on this Saturday and Sunday. It will provide information on the results of the recent survey circulated to residents in the local area and identifying possible development sites. It is hoped that many of you will attend and give your views on the sites from all parts of the parish, so please try not to miss this opportunity.

At the recent village fayre the Battle community bus was on hand to give information on the services they provide. Did you know that the bus runs every Tuesday and Friday from the village green at 9.27am and then drops you in Battle at 9.45am. It then offers a return service leaving Battle at 11.30am. It also travels further afield to Eastbourne, Ashford, Maidstone, Tenterden and Tunbridge Wells, for details on these services please call Lyn on 01424 211779.

Have you any books that you no longer require? Then please consider donating them for a sale to raise funds towards the cost of a celebration for the seniors of the village. If you can help or would like some information on where to drop off please contact Eve or Barry Bradbury on 870401.

If you have an event coming up in the local area or would like to have a small piece, outlining your club or organisation aims, activities, membership etc. then please contact me by email to or by calling 870344. Please allow a couple of weeks notice before an event to allow for full coverage
