With so many Christmas fayres and events taking place it is difficult not to feel sad about the recent AGM of the Sedlescombe Societies’ Association when the future of the Sedlescombe summer fayre 2014 was the focus. It was very disappointing that only two people from the whole village came forward to stand for the organising committee and therefore at the present time it will not be possible to have this event for the village to enjoy. I was decide to hold a n extraordinary general meeting in early February 2014 for the purpose of winding up the Association, should no other willing volunteers come forward at that time this will be the outcome and a great loss to the community.

Groups that have benefited this year from the income generated in July 2013 are: Sedlescombe Library, Sedlescombe Pre School, Sedlescombe Neighbourhood watch, Sedlescombe Sports Association, St John the Baptist churchyard , Sedlescombe Friendship Club, village seniors Christmas Party, Sedlescombe Community Friends and the famous Geese on the Green.

The organisers of St John the Baptist church Advent Fayre held last Saturday at the village hall would like to thank everyone who attended or helped in any way.
