TABLE TOP SALE: There is to be a table top sale in the village hall on Saturday April 25, open to the public from 1pm entrance by donation. There are still some tables unwanted items and give them a new home. Please call Sylvia on 01424 870688. Tea and coffee will be available, come and find a bargain and catch up with friends old and new. All funds raised in aid of St John the Baptist church.

PARISH COUNCIL ANNUAL ASSEMBLY: This will be held in the village hall, doors will be open from 6.30 with the meeting at 7.00 pm on Tuesday April 28 2015. There will be many stalls from local businesses and groups from around the village. During the evening there will also be a draw for attendees and a draw for the volunteers who do various jobs in the village as a thank you for the work they do saving us all money. SEDLESCOMBE AND DISTRICT FLOWER CLUB: Held a very successful meeting last week when all members and visitors attending made their own floral arrangements to take home. What was interesting was, everyone started with the same but we all ended up with something slightly different. At the next meeting on Wednesday May 13 there will be a visiting flower arranger Patricia Ellis interpreting “Simple Pleasures” when members and visitors are welcome to come along for some inspiration or just simply to enjoy the demonstration. “PUTTING ON THE RITZ”: Sedlescombe and District Flower club will once again be hosting their elegant afternoon tea event at the village hall on Saturday May 23. If a choice of tea, dainty sandwiches, delicious cakes and scones come to mind then this is the event for you. This proved a very popular event last time it was on offer so please do not delay in applying for your tickets especially if you would like to reserve a table to share with friends or family. SDGS SPRING SHOW: “Warm Weather creates a “Blooming” Spring Show”. Sedlescombe and District Gardening Society held their Spring show on Saturday and the recent warm weather resulted in a wonderful and colourful display of blooming spring flowers. There were a large number of entries for the cut flower section , the domestic section, and what was most pleasing was a large entry in the junior section. PLANT MARKET: The next event for the gardening society is their annual Plant Market at the Village hall on Saturday May 9. If you need some perennials, annuals, cut flowers or more, at reasonable prices, then please go along. Doors will be open from 10.30am to 12.30am. There will be a cake stall and refreshments will also be available.
