STRAWBERRY FAYRE: A big weekend for Sedlescombe Primary School as they have their Strawberry Fayre this Saturday June 27 open from 12 until 3pm. Entrance is just 50p for adults, children free. There will be maypole dancing and baton twirling with lots of stalls and games for all the family to enjoy and the added bonus that if the weather is good then the school will be open for a swim at £1 a go. If you intend to swim please remember to take the appropriate swimming costumes, towels etc. Refreshments will of course include everything you can think of with strawberries, there will also be a barbecue and a Pimms tent. Fingers crossed for a lovely sunny day for them and you to enjoy.

LOCAL NATIONAL TRUST EVENT: The Rye and District Association of the National Trust play host to a local event on this Saturday June 27, “Playing The Clown”, The Barn Theatre, Smallhythe Place at 6.30 pm. Brian Freeland will present his very personal biography of George Bernard Shaw. Tickets are £10 pp and can be obtained from Smallhythe on 01580 762334. The garden will be open from 5.00 pm to enjoy a picnic before the performance. .

MINI MARKET AND COFFEE MORNING: On Thursday July 2, the mini market will be in Sedlescombe village hall from 10.00am to 11.30am. There will be an array of stalls including books, cakes, bric a brac, and plants ready to plant for your summer garden. Refreshments available throughout the morning. Transport may be available to visit please call 870533. All proceeds towards St John the Baptist Parish Church.

ST MICHAELS HOSPICE OPEN GARDEN SCHEME: The season continues with Kitchenham Farm, Kitchenham Road, Ashburnham,TN33 9NP open on Tuesday June 30, which will be open from 10.30am until 4pm in support of this local charity. The garden is set up high with stunning views to the South Downs. Entry is just £4. Refreshments will be available all day at this lovely country house garden . Well worth a visit with family or friends.
