SEDLESCOMBE BREAKAWAYS: The Breakaways will meet in the committee room at the Sedlescombe village hall on Thursday October 18 at 10am. Pauline Raymond, longtime resident and former parish clerk will be recounting stories from Sedlescombe Past 1890 to 1990. Everyone is welcome to go along as meetings are open to all . Entrance is just £1 for the morning and includes coffee or tea and cake. For further details if needed please contact 01424870688

ANNUAL JUMBLE SALE: We all seem to have too much in our cupboards and drawers so now is the perfect opportunity for a declutter. The annual jumble sale will take place in the village hall on Saturday October 20 , doors open to buyers 11.30 am. Jumble to sell and helpers on the day are both needed and wanted, if YOU can help with either please contact the numbers given. For collection please give a call on 01424 870808 or 870688 or please bring to the hall after 9am on the morning of the sale. This is one of the main fundraisers in the year for the church, please show your support. It does seems a win, win situation, you have a more organised, tidier life and the church have extra funds.

SEDLESCOMBE SCHOOL PTA: The School PTA have taken on the mammoth task of trying to raise £50,000 to have the sports area resurfaced. You may have seen their photo here in the Battle Observer a week or so ago taking part in the Dragon race at Bewl Water. They also have a GoFundMe page for donations. One of their next fundraising events will be their annual Christmas Fayre on Saturday December 1 from 12 until 3pm. Make that a date in your diary to support your local school. More details nearer the time.
