HARVEST FESTIVAL: This Sunday, September 30 is Harvest festival at St John the Baptist parish church, this will start with a service of harvest Eucharist at 10.30am followed by lunch soon afterwards in church. Margaret writes 'We would love to welcome YOU to join us , everyone is welcome. There is lots of tasty food on the menu including cold meats , salmon, quiches, veggie options, salad and crusty bread salads and crusty bread followed by apple pie and other desserts, wash this down with cider or a soft drink. We look forward to having lots of people to share this with us giving thanks for all the good things we enjoy each day'. Sounds delicious. On Friday and Saturday, a team of volunteer flower arrangers will decorate the church and if previous years is anything to go on , the church will look splendid with its Harvest decorations. Gifts of food, fruit, vegetables and gifts suitable to donate to Seaview Homeless project in St Leonards, will be gratefully received, call 870688 or 870608 for collection or please leave in church.

FROM SHIRLEY DAVIES: “I would like to thank people for all the lovely cards myself and the family received, also the flowers and plants along with many very kind things written in letters. Mike would have been so proud of all the comments he received and the turnout at church for the service in his memory. It was truly amazing!! “ My comment is : Mike was an exceptional , generous of time and spirit , well humoured man, bringing a smile and lightness into a sometimes dark world, I do think that Father Kevin does have a spark of this too though when he mentioned at the start of the service that if Mike had seen the turnout he probably would have been selling tickets ! I can see Mike laughing now.

JOHN WILLIAMS: Pauline and George Williams would like to thank all their friends and acquaintances in Sedlescombe for their lovely cards and expressions of sympathy. As many of you know, John died at home on September 12 and there was a private cremation last Friday. Pauline gives thanks for your support which has been amazing and is really appreciated.
