Serial fraudster from Angmering pleads guilty

A WOMAN from Angmering has pleaded guilty to a string of fraud offences and theft, totalling around £9,000, police have announced today (Monday, February 4).

Joann Kathleen Wood, of Arundel Road, was arrested in Exeter, on December 30, in connection with 13 different fraud and theft offences.

The 56-year-old appeared in custody at Crawley Magistrates’ Court at the start of January and at the same court on Thursday, January 24, she pleaded guilty to all offences.

Wood had been charged with ten offences of fraud between March and November 2012 involving more than £9,000 – seven in Angmering, one in Southend, Essex, and two in Weymouth, Dorset, as well as three offences of theft during the same period, two of them in Angmering and one in Weymouth, involving theft of a motor vehicle valued at £3000, a cheque book and other documents.

She has been remanded in custody to is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court for sentencing on Thursday, February 21.
