The 50-year-old man was driving a grey Audi A4 along Catsfield Road when it left the road 150 metres west of Swineham Lane at 4.25pm, according to police.

The car hit a pole carrying power cables, knocking it down and the car flipped.

The driver suffered minor cuts and his passenger, a 49-year-old woman also from St Leonards, was unhurt.

Catsfield Road was closed by police while the pole was repaired.
