VILLAGE NEWS & VIEWS: Things on the surface within the parish, still appear to be rather quiet at present. This, I assume is due to the schoolchildren still enjoying their school holidays, the various, clubs and societies also enjoying a summer furlough and our summer weather continuing to catch us out. There are still one or two events taking place within our villages, and news should be available soon from the amazing number of Groups, Societies, Clubs and Charities that abound through our community, as they begin to re-group their members and re-coup their energies in time for the Autumn season. Please continue to take a look at this column, as well as checking out our very own Ewhurst Parish Website - ewhurst.info. Browse through our superb local Parish News- and the local notice boards set within the three villages of Cripps Corner; Staplecross and Ewhurst Green, and which are always loaded with news and information of all the societies available as well as details of what’s to come.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARIES: Despite not having an actual member’s meeting during the month of August, some ladies of the STAPLECROSS & EWHURST GREEN W.I. still managed to catch up with friends within this lively and friendly group as several of them continued to enjoy their monthly ‘Lunch Date’ and the Book Club meetings during this month. Many more of them met to take part in and enjoy a superb ‘Afternoon Cream Tea’ to celebrate the Centenary year of the W.I.
