Those taking part in the full and half marathons, the 10k relay and the children’s races on Sunday May 15 will experience the unique course along the Victorian promenade, which passes in front of the iconic De La Warr Pavilion.

For supporters, there is live music on the Pavilion sun terrace with local blues band, The League of Gentlemen, generously giving their time free of charge to support the charity.

The Starfish Races were first held last year, originally as a one off event. But they were so successful, it was decided to go ahead for a second year and Tree of Hope’s fundraising manager, Emma Bourne, says the response has been amazing.

She said: This is a local community event supported and organised by local people but which attracts athletes and fun runners from across the country.”

There are a few places left for runners. For more information and to enter, visit www.starfishraces.co.uk

Tree of Hope helps improve the quality of life for children with specialist needs for treatment and equipment that is not normally available on the NHS. The charity can make it possible for young people to travel abroad for medical care and to access services that cannot be funded in other ways.
