Aidan Kavanagh, from Hastings, worked with the children’s online news channel to produce a news report marking the occasion.

The informative and fun news story includes an interview with Michael Linton, creator of the 1066 Medieval Mosaic and a complete recreation of the Bayeux tapestry handcrafted in three million tiny pieces of steel, exhibiting at St Mary-in-the-Castle.

It then moves to the English Heritage site in Battle where the famous battle took place and where King Harold met his death on October 14, 1066, 950 years ago today (Friday).

The report also includes vox pops from school children in Hastings, finding out how much they know about the battle that changed the course of England’s history.
