Students get hands on building experience

Students at Ringmer Community College were given the opportunity to get hands on experience of the building trade.

Staff from Mansell Construction Services visited the college for

National Construction. Students tried their hand at plastering, bricklaying, plumbing and carpentry.

Fiona Gush, Mansell education officer, said: 'We are committed to providing young people with information about our industry and trying to reduce the skills shortage. Ringmer Community College Students have had a fantastic time and hopefully some of them may go on to work in the industry.'

Mansell is currently building the new Sixth Form at the college, where students will have the opportunity to undertake a mix of academic and vocational courses.
