Work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm on Mondays to Fridays and from 7am until 2pm on Saturdays. During this phase the A27 will on occasions be reduced to one lane in both directions. Care will be taken in scheduling the lane closures to avoid busy times.

Phase 2 is scheduled to begin at the end of April.

Highway Agency project manager Bala Vishnubala, said:"This bridge will provide a safer crossing for pedestrians and cyclists over the A27. Highways Agency is committed to limiting any delays caused by roadworks and improvements.

"We advise drivers to plan their journeys in advance, and allow extra time for their journeys while these works are being carried out."
