Tarring pensioner becomes victim of distraction burglary

A PENSIONER from Tarring became the victim of a distraction burglary after three men conned their way into her home.

The elderly woman, of Greystone Avenue, had just returned home from hospital at 11.15am on Monday (October 1) when a man knocked on her door pretending there was a problem with the water and asking her to boil some.

While he was distracting her, two other men entered her house and stole money from her handbag and bedroom.

One of the men was white, medium build, with dark hair and dark/ginger stubble. He was 19 years old, 5' 7" tall and was wearing a dark grey woollen jacket with zip-up front and Nike symbol on it, and dark trousers. He had a local accent.

The other two males were described as white, a similar age, stockier build and were wearing dark clothing.
