There is still to time to join in the fun at the Beer and Music Festival

And by joining in the fun you will helping to contribute to good local causes and charities.

The Festival got off to a rousing start on Thursday with the Battle of Hastings Proms event, which featured a full orchestra and the Hastings Big Choir.

Now it is the turn of local bands to take to the stage and organisers Round Table say that although tickets for the festival have been selling fast there will still be tickets available on the door on Friday and Saturday.

However, it is best to arrive early as they are expecting to reach sell-out capacity at some stage on the Saturday.

This year’s band line up offers an entire showcase of local talent, with the ever-popular headliners 1066 Rockitmen, The Chandeliers, The JJDS and Deep Sea Divers on the Friday (July 1)

The Do Theys headline on Saturday (July 2) with strong support through the evening from The Cavaliers, Dorey the Wise and The BLOCKX.

Last year the festival raised £65,000 which, Hastings Round Table, working with local organisations, has targeted to local good causes. The target this year, is to beat last year’s fund and help even more local people in need.

The festival, which is sponsored by local businesses, takes place in a giant marquee and boasts what is claimed to be the longest bar in Europe.

On offer will be over 100 beers and ciders from all over the UK, including many locally brewed beers.

There will be a selection of local food on offer too.

Car parking is very limited near the site and people arriving by car are advised to park in the centre of Hastings (about a 10 minute walk).

Since the event was established, the Hastings Round Table has given over £1 million to local good causes.

They recently donated £1,700 to help fund the services the Sara Lee Trust provides to patients of St.Michael’s Hospice.
