Police are warning residents to be vigilant about keeping their garages and outbuildings secure after receiving a report of a theft from a garage in Camber.

Between 6pm on March 19 and 9am on 21 March a garage at a property on Lydd Road was broken into and power tools stolen. The garage was insecure.

Always make sure garages are secure

Various tools were stolen from a garage, including a Diamond Cutter, Bosch Jigsaw, two Makita Drills, Workx Mini Saw and a JCB Router.

PCSO Rachael Scott said: “People tend to store expensive and valuable items in their garages and sheds, so we are encouraging residents to ensure that these are always secure.

“Local hardware stores can give you advice on the best locks and alarms to use and battery operated alarms can be inexpensive. Remember your local officers can security mark any tools.“
