Traders Say Thank you

FATHER Christmas was kept busy giving out presents to children at East Preston, as the village traders staged their annual Christmas event.

Mulled wine and mince pies were served up to shoppers, and a tombola stall raised 210, to be shared between good causes in the village.

Ray Leggett, chairman of East Preston Traders' Association, said: "I would like to thank all traders, whether members of the association or not, for their contributions of tombola prizes.

Everyone was very generous and, after all, the event is a way of thanking our customers for their support."

*Angmering village centre was packed for the annual traders' evening on Wednesday night.

Part of Arundel Road was blocked off to provide space for a children's funfair, a temporary stage was set up outside the Lamb Inn and several village organisations set up fund raising stalls, while shopkeepers welcomed customers with seasonal treats.

Carol singing and handbell ringers added to the festive atmosphere.
