A PENSIONER was taken to hospital following a three-car crash on the A21 on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened shortly after 5.20pm outside Claremont School, near Westfield.

A green Vauxhall Astra, driven by a 43-year-old Tonbridge man, was stationary and waiting to turn right into the school.

A Rover 214, driven by a 74-year-old Hawkhurst man, was stopped behind.

Whilst the two vehicles were waiting, a third vehicle, a silver Honda driven by a 71-year-old Flimwell woman, failed to stop and collided with the back of the Rover, which in turn shunted into the Astra.

A 70-year-old Hawkhurst woman, who was a passenger in the Rover, was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings with a minor injury.
