Person being hit by train adds to rail disruption
The company’s website shows there is ‘major disruption’ on most lines in the Southern Trains Sussex network.
A statement on the site’s homepage said: “Due to a person struck by a train at Battersea Park rail services to and from London Victoria are being disrupted, Southern passengers can use TFL buses, London Underground/Overground, SouthWest, South Eastern and London Tramlink services.

Trains are also being delayed across the network due to a derailment yesterday afternoon. A rail replacement service was running between Brighton and Preston Park and passengers travelling down to Horsham and the Arun Valley line are also experiencing disruption.
However at lunchtime Southern expected rail services to resume ‘any moment’.
A Southern spokesman said: “The latest is that the derailed train is now back in the depot and the cable problems have been rectified. We expect services to resume any moment.
