Sussex traffic report: Two-car Crawley collision; vehicles break down on M23, A23 and A259

Here is your morning traffic report for Sussex on Friday, September 2.

A collision has been reported in Crawley, this morning.

According to traffic reports, two cars have been involved in a crash on Barnfield Road, near Hollybush Road. Traffic is said to be coping well.

There is, however, heavy traffic on the M23, near Gatwick Airport. This is due to a broken-down vehicle on the exit slip road at junction 9. Lane two (of two) is reportedly closed, heading up to the roundabout.

There are also reports of a stalled vehicle on the A23 at M23 J11 (Pease Pottage). Traffic is coping well, according to AA reports.

In Chichester, delays have been reported on A27 Chichester Bypass, eastbound between B2145 Whyke Road (Whyke roundabout) and A259 (Bognor Bridge roundabout).

There are further minor delays on A259 New Road, westbound between A280 Angmering Bypass (Blue Star roundabout) and B2140 Station Road.

Delays are said to be increasing on A27 Shoreham Bypass, eastbound towards A283 Steyning Road (Steyning turn-off).

In East Sussex, delays are reportedly worsening between Brighton and Newhaven. Queues have been reported on A259 Marine Drive, westbound between Hoddern Avenue and B2123 High Street.

In Bexhill, there are reports of a broken-down vehicle on A259 Barnhorn Road, with traffic said to be coping well both ways near the Applegreen Petrol station.
