SUMMER LUNCH: At their lunch party in the Hall last Thursday the Brede and Udimore Overseas Group raised some £500 for the four charities which they support. After lunch we were treated to a talk by a representative of one of these; in Papua New Guinea, she told us, the church is still strong, despite a serious lack of resources. If you weren’t there (and there were still a few unsold seats) you missed a most informative talk, and an excellent meal. The group’s committee had worked very hard to prepare and serve this lunch, and are very grateful to everyone else who helped.
COFFEE MORNING: Tomorrow (Saturday) between 10am and noon we are invited to Dr John Crook’s garden, Hillside (just down Brede Hill on the left) for coffee and scones, with strawberries and cream. There will also be nicknacks and cakes for sale. This will be a fundraising event for the Friends of St George’s.
CHURCH SERVICES: In St Mary’s Church on Sunday there will be Holy Communion at 8am, and the monthly Family Service for All at 11.15am, followed by refreshments in the Hall.
MOBILE LIBRARY: On Wednesday (June 17) the Library will be at the Hall from 11.45am till 12.15pm, also a chance to meet others for a chat over coffee or tea in the Hall (which will be open from 11.30am onwards).
