CHURCH SERVICES: This Sunday in St Mary’s Church Holy Communion will be at 8am and the monthly Family Service for All at 11.15am, followed by refreshments and a social chat in the Hall (if it’s free, otherwise in the church).
PROSE AND POETRY EVENING: As already mentioned in this column, this always very entertaining and enjoyable annual event will be in the Hall next Saturday evening, February 20. It’s due to start at 7pm for 7.30pm, when a full 2-course hot supper will be preceded and followed by readings of your choice: feel free to bring along with you any pieces you’d like to share with everyone else, either reading them yourselves or asking someone to read them for you. Tickets cost £15, available from either Robert Wheeler (01797 222009) or Gary Marriott (07752 373669) as soon as possible, and preferably by noon the previous day.
UDIMORE QUIZ EVENING: At 7pm the following Saturday (February27) we’re all invited to the Hall Committee’s annual quiz evening, during which a high class fish and chip supper (bring your own bottles) will be followed by The Quiz and a Raffle. Tickets cost £10: to buy them (and book a table) please contact Frank Langrish by ringing 01424 882250 or 07976 255431, or emailing email@example.com . All proceeds will be for Hall funds.
SPRING BRUNCH: The Saturday after that (March 5) there’s another invitation, from the Friends of St Mary’s Church, to a social breakfast (from toast to a full English) in the Hall any time between 9.30 and 11.30am. Another event to enter in your diary!
