Tomorrow afternoon (Saturday), between 2 and 5pm, do try to fit in a visit to the Rye Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital Summer Fete. It’s taking a different form this year, being held in the grounds of the hospital itself and including a wide range of stalls, games and live music. Tickets will be on sale for a Grand Raffle, too. This is a chance to show our support for our much valued and highly successful local hospital.

In St Mary’s Church this Sunday celebration of Holy Communion at 8am will be followed at 11.15am by the monthly Family Service for All. Afterwards there will be refreshments in the Community Hall. Everyone will be welcome at this service, whether accompanied by family or on your own.

At the Brede and Udimore Overseas Group Summer Lunch in the Hall on Thursday June 19 Dr Corry van den Bosch will be speaking about the work that Sightsavers do to eliminate avoidable blindness, and to help people who are irreversibly blind or disabled to live independently. Tickets for the lunch may still be obtained from Liz (01424 882657) or Betty (01424 883430) priced at only £8.50 - wonderful value! There’ll also be a raffle. This is another fundraising event for Sightsavers and the other charities supported by the Group.
