A motorcyclist died after a car crash outside of Netherfield yesterday (Sunday, November 15).
The 53-year-old man from Ashford, Kent, suffered fatal injuries in the crash on the B2096 between Netherfield and Battle at around midday.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue service rescued the biker after becoming stuck underneath a car during the crash before he was taken to hospital by South East Coast Ambulance Service.
It is believed the biker crashed his black Kawasaki ZX-6R into a white Seat Ibiza while trying to overtake a Ford Transit van.
The driver of the Seat, a 30-year-old woman from Sedlescombe, and the 28-year-old St Leonards man driving the van were unhurt.
The biker was one of four travelling south towards Battle.
The road was closed for four hours while the scene was investigated.
Police are seeking witnesses to the incident.
Anyone who saw what happened or who has other information is asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 101, quoting Operation Shaldon.
