UPDATE: Woman hospitalised after A21 crash

A woman was taken to hospital after a crash involving two cars on the A21 this morning (Tuesday, March 8).

The driver of one of the cars was released from her car and taken to the Conquest Hospital after the crash outside Vinehall School at around 8.30am.

Her injuries are unconfirmed but not considered to be life-changing or life-threatening.

Two East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service appliances from Battle used specialist equipment to remove the roof of one vehicle and release the casualty.

The casualty was left in the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service who sent one ambulance.

The road has now been reopened and firefighters left the scene at about 9.50am.

The road was closed between John’s Cross roundabout and the B2098 junction.
