Scam: There is a telephone scam doing the rounds and some people in our Parish have been affected. The caller was offering to review Council Tax property valuations for a fee. Please, Please, do not part with money over the phone or on the doorstep. Always STOP and THNK is this real, could it be true. Ask for written confirmation; Do not give out your information at all. If at all doubtful speak to a family member or friend before doing anything. The Police are looking into this matter.

Lloyds Bank Rye: has closed, mobile buses will be used instead and here is the time table for Rye Market Car Park. Wednesdays 10am – 11.45 opening again at 12.30pm – 2.45pm. Fridays 10am – 11.30am. Please make a note of these times if you are a customer.

Friday 19 October: Brede Farmers Market in Brede Village Hall from 10am – 12noon You may find ideas for Christmas, as well as your weekly shop.

Saturday 20 October: The Friends of St George Brede present DR John Crook and his talk ‘Brede Christmas Entertainment 28 December 1899’ at 7 for 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall. At St George’s Church, a sung Family Eucharist will be held at 9.30am Father Martin can be reached on 01424 883408. The Church’s Website is http:/www.stgeorgesbrede.org.uk other services held during the week is in the Church Parish Magazine that is out now for October.

At the Trinity Methodist Church the Preacher is Mrs Gillian Lambourne at 10.30am. The Reverend Peggy Heim is the Pastoral Minister and can be contacted on 01424 422350 The seat at the back of the Church is there for all to use, why not go and sit in the tranquil wildlife garden and admire the view.

Monday 22 October: Pilates with Susan is at 9.15am in Udimore Community Hall and she can be contacted on 07858 518504 followed by the Wea Gardening course at 11.30am.

Cubs are 8-10½ years old and meet from 6.30 – 8.00pm. To help celebrate the 100th Anniversary since the end of WW1 at St George’s Church Brede. We are inviting the local community to join us in marking this important occasion. At 6.55pm we will be sounding the Last Post. Then at 7pm the new Beacon in Waterworks Lane will be lit. 7.05pm the Church Bells will ring out. More details will appear in the Church magazine for November and Brede Village Voice.
