The Concert of Remembrance will be taking place at St Mary’s Church at 6pm on 4th November also. This is to remember the fallen and those that survived in the World Wars, and for some, those that are still going on today. This evening will be a mixture of music, poetry, and true-life stories and certainly is a very moving event. It costs just £5 entry and the proceeds go between the Royal British Legion and St Mary’s.

Robertsbridge & District Archaeological Society: will be holding its next meeting at Robertsbridge Hall on Friday November 9th starting at 7.30pm. Robertsbridge Bonfire Society: are now busy getting the event organised to the highest standard that we all now expect. This is very hard work and there are a great many events behind the scenes that happen to raise the funds to put the event of November 17th on. This is where you help is needed to marshal the event to keep it safe. Or to carry a collecting bucket to raise funds to help other organisations and groups within our community. If you can do either please contact myself on 880491 or pop into the Floral Boutique and we will give you the contact needed.

Also it is now time when the Society are offered, sheds, sofas, beds, hedge cuttings etc. etc. for the bonfire. This is a polite `Thank you but no thanks` to all of these. The fire is made in a specific way and the building materials are organised and sorted ready for the day, we hope no offence has been caused.

In a close game both defences stood firm in the first period with man of the match Michael Stone prominent for The Bridge but the second period started well for The Bridge when the referee awarded a penalty 5 minutes after the re-start but Paul Barnes failed to convert the spot kick however The Bridge did take the lead on 55 minutes when Guy Ballard got his second of the season to earn all three points for The Bridge. The 2nd team hosted Division 2 leaders St.Leonards Social II and we should have taken the lead after just 2 minutes from a corner but the shot hit the post which gave the visitors a fright and just 3 minutes later they scored a soft goal while they doubled their lead on the half hour mark. The second half saw The Social dominate with a further six goals as The Bridge crumbled through in-experience of their young side despite the efforts of man of the match Callum Beighton.
