ADVENT FAIR: Only one more week to go, until the annual church Advent fair takes place on Saturday November 26 in the village hall at 12 noon. Light lunches will be served, soup and rolls, tea and cake during the afternoon, while you browse the goodies available for sale. The bakers will have been busy with a well stocked cake stall, Sheila and Trevor’s potted bulbs, gifts for Christmas, also Christmas decorations, several games of chance. There is the opportunity to win £100 donated by Pump House Designs plus many other excellent prizes in the Grand Draw including Queens Head meal for Two, Hair styling at the Clockhouse, Meat Voucher from Archers of Westfield, Sedlescombe Stores Christmas Hamper Golf for four at Sedlescombe Golf Club plus more. Tickets are now on sale priced £1 available in the village shop or from church members.

SEDLESCOMBE AND DISTRICT GARDEN SOCIETY: Sedlescombe & District Garden Society will be having a talk in the Village Hall by Irene Wilson from the National Gardens Scheme; the subject will be ‘All Gardens Great and Small’. This will be followed by a full afternoon tea. The date is Tuesday December 6 at 2pm. Free to Garden Society Members but non members are welcome at £5. This event has become very popular. SEDLESCOMBE SENIORS CHRISTMAS PARTY: This year’s Christmas Party for senior citizens of Sedlescombe will be held on Friday December 16 in the village hall. Tickets are £5 per person and are limited to 60 guests. Don’t delay, get your ticket today. Twenty tickets have already been sold! Phone Pauline or Reg on 870258 to reserve yours. If you require transport, let them know at the same time.

FRIENDS OF SEDLESCOMBE CHURCH: The Friends Heritage Trust held their AGM last Monday evening with church wardens Trevor Palmer and Rev Kevin Mepham in attendance. A social evening ensued reporting on the activities and income of the past twelve months. The committee for this year is: Chairman Anthony Rand, Vice Chair Jean Dann, Secretary Reg Glew, Treasurer Judy Torrance, Membership Secretary Pauline Williams, Gill Cachrimanis and new to the team, Anthony Ganly. Look out for their events in 2017 raising funds to assist in the maintenance of our Parish church.
