PARISH COUNCIL NEWS: Councillors Fisher, Scott and White together with parish clerk Valerie Bennett met with Huw Merriman MP to discuss local issues. An interesting and useful discussion ensued. Huw has already recognised and supports many of the issues raised particularly around the dangers of speed on the A21 and the lack of footpath along the road in the village. Councillors also again raised the need to improve both local broadband speed and the train speed links to London to help support local business all of which he is already actively supporting. He also hopes to organise an open meeting with him for village residents to discuss any local issues they may have. Councillors were very appreciative of him taking the time out of his busy schedule to sit down and talk to us He clearly wants to have a good understanding of his constituents needs and to be active in his community.
