Vocal Explosion set to pack church

Local community choir Vocal Explosion is expecting a sell-out success when it stages its annual Midwinter Concert at St Clements Church, in Hastings Old Town on Saturday December 10.

Hannah Wilcox, from the choir, said: “Over the last three years we have performed to a packed house with ever hopeful people queueing around the block for ticket returns.

The candlelit setting creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Vocal Explosion’s sound encompasses music from around the globe, performed by the ensemble choir with energy and verve, and featuring Juliet Russell’s haunting vocals.

“Talented violinist Garry Blakeley (described by the band Feast of Fiddles as ‘one of the best in the country’), multi-instrumentalist Edd Blakeley (hailed by the BBC as ‘a rare talent’) and the choir’s beloved house band join the choir to create an extraordinary evening of bespoke and traditional world music, combined with the interpreted sound of the ancient Celts.

“A Vocal Explosion performance takes you on a thoroughly enjoyable journey, guaranteed both to draw you in and lift your spirits.”

The concert is at 7.30pm (doors open at 7 p.m).Tickets are available online at www.wegottickets.com/event/380231 and also from Bio Five-O, B&T Music, Aquila House and SHOP.
