Week of fun sees best turnout in a century
A total of 220 adults and youngsters have enrolled for the latest Scripture Union week of fun and activities. The event is going strong in its 91st year.
One of the volunteers running the occasion, Jane Weavers, said: "We are having a lot of fun.

Hide Ad"There is a real mixture of activities and lots of different activities going on.
"This is the best turnout I've known in the eight years I've been involved with the holiday special.
"What we have now, which we didn't have before, is a lot of local involvement with Felpham Methodist Church and St Nicholas Church in Middleton throughout the year.
"It's not just a case of us turning up once a year. People know about us all through the year. That makes them want to join in."

Hide AdThis year's activities are being held at the Methodist church and St Nicholas on the theme of showstoppers during the mornings and afternoons. Evenings are also held for those aged 11-plus.
Afternoon events have included beach fun and games, family fun and crafts, a Felpham talent show and a trip for families to the Flying Fortress venue in Ford.
The week ends on Saturday, August 9, with a picnic and celebration at the Methodist church.
