Westfield Church: It was great to see Plough Sunday traditions celebrated last week-end. Westfield Church was the venue for a fantastic performance of ‘The Wheel of the Year’ as part of the week-end yesterday, with highly acclaimed local folk fiddler Garry Blakeley and his band holding the audience spellbound for a programme of songs, instrumental music, prose and poetry. A plough was brought into the church to be decorated and blessed for the family service on Sunday, and a vintage International tractor displayed at the lych gate. Mad Jacks and Hannah’s Cat Morris danced after the service. Visit the village website http://www.westfieldvillage.co.uk/node/5081 to see a few photos.
