Last week-end: was very busy for some, with the autumn village tidy in the morning, and the seniors tea party and Messy Church in the afternoon. All were very successful, and there are some lovely photos on the Westfield Church and What's on the Westfield Facebook pages. Thank you to all the organisers who gave up a lot of their time!

Westfield Parish Church: Services on Sunday are Holy Communion at 8am and 10am, with Youth Church at 10am. There will be a Deanery Service of Healing in the evening at 6pm, with refreshments from 5.30pm. Everyone is welcome to any of our services.

Westfield Community Choir: Everyone is welcome to join the village choir, but not next week as they are taking a break during half term. The next meeting is on Monday 29th October at 7pm in the church.

F3 Women’s Group: F3 (Friends, Fun, Fellowship) meets monthly in the Church Hall and welcomes all women of any age. The next meeting is on Thursday 25 October at 7.30pm, when we look forward to hearing the latest about the Air Ambulance – Flying for Life. Admission is just £2. Women’s Institute: Westfield WI invite you to their Fashion Show next Friday 26 October at 2pm in the Church Hall. Bonmarche will be bringing a selection of fashions for all occasions, and will be giving out discount vouchers. Admission is just £2 including tea and biscuits, and proceeds go to the Sara Lee Trust.

WW1 Commemoration Display: Looking further ahead, Westfield is preparing to commemorate the lives of those who served. The week-end of 3 and 4 November sees an exhibition in the Church Hall from 10am to 4pm, when in conjunction with Ruth Carter from Westfield History, the Parish Council is organising a display to commemorate 100 years since the end of World War 1. There will be a showing of the film Battle of the Somme in the Hall at 6.30pm for 7pm start on 3 November. This acclaimed 1916 film is on loan from the Imperial War Museum. Bar available. Entrance is by donation to Royal British Legion. To reserve tickets in advance email [email protected]
