Prayer team. At St John’s there is always someone from the prayer team available at the back of the North aisle after the 9.30am service and after the 10.30am Family Service to pray confidentially with anyone who wants someone to pray with them. If you would like someone to pray with you just go and ask.

Induction of Revd. Robert Mulford as Vicar of Westfield and Guestling. The induction service for Revd. Robert Mulford takes place on Monday 2nd July at 7.00pm. Please pray for Robert Mulford as he prepares for his ministry, and for Robert, Susan and Ciaran as they settle into their new home.

Prayer Day, 2nd July 2012: On the 2nd July we plan to have a day of prayer as we prepare to welcome Robert Mulford and his family into our fellowship and to join together in celebrating, before God, Robert’s induction as vicar. There will be a list at the back of St John’s, please sign up for the time you would like to pray. We are hoping to cover the whole day. There is no plan that we all pray in church. So you can pray wherever you are and feel able to pray.

* Sena and Jane Ounate-Lare. Sena and Jane and their family will be visiting Westfield on Sunday 1st July. There will be no 9.30am service at St John’s this Sunday, instead there will be a Family Communion Service at 10.30am.

For those of you who don’t read the Daily Telegraph, Helen (in her own words) is “just a passionate muddy-gloves-and-wellies gardener blessed with the gift of the gab” and she writes a weekly column, Thorny Problems, which is an eclectic mix of musings and agony-aunt-style garden advice.  The tickets are £2.50 for Members of the Sedlescombe Garden Society and £5.00 for Non-Members. All are welcome. This is an exciting event for us. To avoid disappointment reserve your tickets in advance from Jo Evans – 01424 751112.

F3. The next meeting of F3 in July will be an End of Term Special on Thursday July 26th.

Westfield Golf Fellowship had another great tour to Bournemouth. Surprisingly the weather broke on each of the 3 days allowing for dry golf! This even more amazing as the motorways, roads & towns nearby were flooded! The overall winner of the European Trophy for 2012 was Westfield’s own Jake Burton, with local people Tim Cheal and Lee Case being runner up and 3rd respectively. Their next event is The Captains Bucket on the evening of July 19th at Hemsted Forest (Cranbrook). For more information please telephone Nick on 07939587796 or email [email protected]

The Sedlescombe and Westfield Club of the East Sussex Disability Association (ESDA) is looking for new members.  ESDA is a charity organisation led by disabled people and provides expert advice, information and practical support.  ESDA has dedicated accessible coaches with fully qualified driver attendants providing a door to door service for members.  The Sedlescombe and Westfield Club have outings on the second Thursday of the month, and the next outing is to ‘The Wheatsheaf’, Little Common, on 12 July.  Members participate in fundraising to keep the costs down, so there is simply a contribution requested towards the transport. If you fancy getting out and about, making new friends or if you would like to volunteer to help, please give Marianne a call at ESDA on 01323 514531 or email [email protected].  Visit www.esda.org.uk for more information.
