Alex Goodman, The Royal Oak

Tonight the Film Club will be showing the epic and spectacular Les Miserables at the earlier than usual time of 7.30pm in The Barn at The Royal Oak. Everyone is welcome, Film Club membership is just £7.50 for the whole year - cheaper than just one cinema ticket!

The Barn is also the venue for the next Psychic Night with local Master Palmist Robin Lown and his guest Tarot Card reader Avril Price on Saturday 23rd November at 7.30pm. Those that have attended these events before know how amazing the readings are and what an entertaining evening it is. Always a sell-out, so please book your tickets now, just £10 each call 01424 870492 or pop into the pub.

The pub quiz is every Thursday night from 8pm for teams of up to six people, with free lollipops - how can you resist?

There will be another opportunity to pick up some bargains at the next Village Hall Jumble Sale on Saturday 16th November at 10am. Helpers are always welcome, call Angie on 01424 870492.

It is of course Remembrance Sunday this weekend, and so the monthly All Age Service in Whatlington Village Hall at 10.30am on Sunday will include an act of Remembrance.

It is hoped that church services will be able to return to the church building on Sunday 24th November, but this will not mark the official re-opening, watch this space for news about that in due course.

And finally a very Happy Birthday to Richard Thorne, hoping you enjoy retirement!
