Village Hall: Another meeting of the Village Hall Committee was held on November 12th. Amongst other things this resulted in an excellent clearing-out session of the various items, many of rather dubious usefulness, that have been stored for some time in the area outside the toilets. Those items to be kept will now be neatly stored in two cupboards, one of which will also provide baby-changing facilities. The policy of heating the Hall for short periods morning and evening on a timer switch is proving to be very helpful in these damp conditions; readings have been taken to keep a weather eye on gas consumption but it was decided that this is quite reasonable and this could be continued for the time being, albeit with continued monitoring. Annette McBride, our Chairman, regretfully reported that we had not been successful in our application for funds under EDF’s Power of Giving Scheme - other avenues, however, are being pursued.

Festive Supper: The festive supper event at the Hall on December 5th was also discussed and a delicious menu has been devised, which will all be home cooked by members of the Committee, to be revealed on the night! We hope as many of our community as possible will come along for a congenial evening with good food, quizzes and seasonal music. Watch out for a festive-looking flyer that should be coming your way very soon, with details of how to book your place. Payment will be on the night.
