Whatlington

Church News: The Christmas services at Whatlington were, as usual, well attended; the Pageant saw the church full and the Christmas story was played out with a Nativity tableau in the barn at Leeford Oast, with refreshments kindly provided by the Hugh and Lesley Apthorp. Many thanks to all those who helped to organise this event. On Christmas Eve we had a well attended early midnight service at 10pm. Our service next Sunday will be at 09.30am.

The Royal Oak: Maria writes: We had such a lovely Christmas Eve here at The Royal Oak, with John Shepherd playing the organ and everyone singing along to traditional Christmas carols. It was a great atmosphere. Christmas Day was hectic but, we believe, also went very well. We would like to wish all Whatlington residents, especially our regulars, a very Happy New Year and hope that you will be able to join us on New Year’s Eve for our James Bond/Casino Royale themed evening with great surprises, games, two discos (for adults and children), a finger food buffet and - of course - cocktails (shaken, not stirred)!
