The church service at Whatlington next Sunday will be Holy Communion at 09.30am. The church is now resplendent with three new Nave windows, these are diamond leaded panes with clear antiqued glass and replace three mediocre Victorian obscured glass windows which had been likened to having Vaseline smeared over the glass. The new windows allow much more light into the building and compliment the restored interior.
Some advance notice, on Sunday 26th April there will be a special service of Evensong at 6pm held at Whatlington to mark St. George’s Day (April 23rd) St. George of course being the Patron Saint of England, his fight with the dragon being an allegory of good over evil. The service will be followed by a glass of wine or a soft drink and some nibbles, so why not put this in your diary.
