Tennis Tournament and Barbecue: Saturday, August 8th. Don’t forget to let Sally Henderson know before August 1st on 01424 775130 if you’d like to take part in our informal tennis tournament, for both adults and children, in aid of the Hall funds, on Saturday, August 8th, to be followed by a barbecue and the traditional strawberries and cream! Play will start at 2.00 pm. The entry fee will be £15 for adults and £5 for children, to include the barbecue; we’ll charge £10 for the barbecue only. The final will be held at Leeford Farm, followed by the barbecue around 7.15pm, by kind permission of Hugh and Lesley Apthorp. There will also be a raffle with lots of exciting prizes! Players (and spectators!) of all ages and abilities are most welcome!

Church News: This coming weekend, July 25th and 26th, will see our celebration of the church’s patronal, or saint’s day. The church will be open from 2.30 to 4.30 pm on Saturday 25th when delicious cream teas will be served. There will also be a cake stall and a raffle. On Sunday 26th there will be no morning service; instead, an Evensong service will be held at 5.00 pm, followed by light refreshments. As always, the car park adjacent to the Village Hall will be open: there is no parking at the church. When walking up from the car park, please use the road and approach by the path leading up to the church, just opposite the blue Parish Church sign. Please do not use the approach from the private road almost opposite Mill Lane, as this crosses private land and over which there is no right of way.
